About Chris Dyer
I’m Chris Dyer, AKA ChrisAtTheEnd, and I make comics.
I was born in Detroit, Michigan, but raised around the state, spending the majority of my time reading and practicing drawing. I’d always wanted to be able to write exciting stories of my own and share them with people—after reading the work of Dav Pilkey as a child, and making further forays into both Western comics and manga, I found that graphic novels were the best method for me to do so. I focused on that field intensely until I entered college life.
During my stay at the University of Michigan, I grew fond of analyzing systems, to find out how they might be improved. I majored in Computer Science, to understand how “optimal” systems work, and Sociology, to understand how real people work. I thought about how this knowledge could be applied to my art throughout my undergraduate program.
Having gotten more worldly in the decade since I’ve graduated, I’ve rethought my artistic goals. Now I want to make stories that aren’t merely compelling, but also politically incisive and reflective of larger truths about real life.
So, I make comics—from the standpoint of someone at the end—that I hope provide some understanding of how we got here, and where we might go.
